PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE EMAILING OR CALLING WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS PET Marcus is a male retriever mix, approximately 16 weeks old. He was extremely thin when he came to rescue in mid-November. He is now about 24 pounds, and growing like a weed! It is expected he may be a large dog when full grown (plan on 60 lbs+). It is recommended he have a home without young children since he is still learning to control his food excitement and he can be nippy and excitable. Potential matches will be contacted to have Marcus and his foster mom arrange a home visit before any final placement is selected. Marcus says: "I am very smart and enjoy being active. I'm learning "sit," "off," "no," "kennel," "out of the kitchen," and "leave it." I am about 95% potty trained (I'm still young and when I go to my new home I may need reinforcement). I am respectful of cats and I LOVE other dogs. I can be pretty rambunctious when I play, so I would really like a doggy friend but they need to be tolerant. I'm teething and can be kind of mouthy, but I don't mean to hurt you and I'll keep getting better with consistent training, lots of different toys/bones to chew on, and positive reinforcement when I'm good. I am not much into snuggling, really. I prefer to lay on my dog bed or on the floor with my toys if we aren't playing or doing something fun. I'll need a home that is committed to my training and keep my smart mind challenged, and provide daily exercise (walks and lots of interactive play time). I think everything is super fun!"
