Heidi is a 4 month old lab mix. Heidi is very good with my two dogs; she plays hard but not roughly. She's been great with all the kids she's met; gentle, no jumping, likes to kiss. She is not doing so well with housebreaking, but I think that's my fault; tho yesterday she asked to go out for the first time!! Yay! She normally will pee and poop fairly quickly once she gets outside.
Heidi has plenty of energy, but once she gets through playtime, she is quiet and calm. She really needs someone to spend time working with her on a leash; she walks great with my girls, but she needs some one-on-one training so she doesn't pull and yank the leash. She likes to taste everything, and is an exuberant walker. She likes to cuddle on the couch when she's finished playtime.
Heidi enters her kennel willingly, tho she does cry for several minutes after she's finished her treat. I haven't been working on getting her to be quiet; most dogs learn to settle down pretty quickly, but I think Heidi is going to need some help to learn to quiet down more quickly. She hasn't pooped or peed once in her crate! So she just needs a little more help with housebreaking to get that.
She's a good eater, but doesn't seem to be very food-motivated. It took her a few days to eat her treats in her kennel, but now she enjoys them.
My two Bostons have really enjoyed having Heidi with us, as have I. She's a sweet little girl and quickly learned where home is. She's very gentle and loving.
